Update Your Drivers
This isn't a paid endorsement, nor do I have any affiliation or friendship with this company. It's just something I found helpful and wanted to pass along.
So I've been having some ongoing issues with my video card. My friend at the computer repair shop told me there is probably nothing wrong with the video card itself, that I should try to install new drivers. Well, I tried and caused a horrible problem. Every time I would try to adjust settings I would get a totally black screen, and also when I tried to reboot I got the black screen. It was a real problem and I wsa reseting and rebooting and making the computer go to sleep and come out of it just to try to see what what going on. This went on and on until I finally decided pretty much to buy a new video card anyway.
So over the weekend one of my neighbors asked me for some help installing his printer drivers on his new computer. I went over and had a lot of difficulty finding the right drivers because the printer is quite old. I came home defeated.
So I did some searching on the internet and found a place called driveragent.com. Pretty neat. The service can scan your computer and find the correct drivers for you. The scanner is virus and spyware free, completely safe. I did it and found 45% of my drivers were out of date. Even the RECENT video card driver I downloaded. So I joined and did some updating. I'm happy to report my black sceen problem is resolved and I will be installing my neighbor's printer drivers shortly. I love it.
Cocaine Found In Lohan Investigation
Oh no, it can't be! The girl who thought she'd rather die than go to rehab, then went to rehab, then resumed the party girl lifestyle has now been involved in a one car DUI crash with a "usable amount" of cocaine? Tell me it isn't so.
Ok, so I'm being cynical but you've come to expect that from me in matters involving celebrity brats… right?
Did anyone other than Martha Stewart see this coming? When Lindsay was on Martha recently Martha remarked over and over again about Lindsay going out all night, being the party girl and all that. I wonder if Martha also suspected the drug use.Â
On TMZ.com they have a whole gallery of photos of celebs blazing up the ganja in public. How stupid. If you want to do drugs at least have the decency to be ashamed of it. But no, those afflicted with celeb status also seem to be afflicted with brainlesness.
So Lilo tore up the curb and seemed to have run into some trees with her expensive convertible before she left the scene of the accident and was taken to the hospital by some friends. She suffered some minor injuries but I think she'll recover nicely, probably better than her career will.
Is jail time on the horizon for Lindsay Lohan? Too early to tell really but DUI is no joke, and neither is leaving the scene of an accident. The discovery of an illegal narcotic definitely won't help. We'll have to stay up to date on this one. Lindsay might even need her own category now on Absolutely True. Before this happened I thought firecrotch was way too boring to get her own slot.

Do you like spam?
I don't like Spam either… so please think about this fact I read on Untwisted Vortex
You know all the jokes, warnings, petitions and things you get forwarded to you in email? You know how you click forward and add all your friends email addresses in the "To:" box? Well, the more times an email is forwarded the more email addresses build up. This is a spammers DREAM. When a spammer gets one of these mass forwarded emails they can just harvest all of the addresses and then you, your friends and friends of friends for infinity will all get spammed. So be a real friend and don't do email forwards..or if you must, please clean out all the email addresses first and then use the BCC email feature to hide your friends email addresses from the spammers!

Alabama Boy Kills Wild Hog Bigger Than Hogzilla
Is this for real?Â
An 11-year-old eastern Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a gigantic 'Monster Pig' which weighed approximately 1,060 pounds and was 9 feet 4 inches long from snout to tail. The boy, Jamison Stone, now has up to 700 pounds of sausage to deal with.
This wild boar beats the previous big pig record-holder known as Hogzilla, killed in 2004, and is now the subject of a horror movie being filmed in Georgia. The producers have offered the boy a role in the movie. Hogzilla was only 800 pounds.
Of the killing, the boy who is a top-honour student at a Christian private-school, said: "It's a good accomplishment. I probably won't ever kill anything else that big." The monster pig's head is being stuffed and mounted as a trophy.

Lord Save Me From Certainty and Jerry Falwell

I was thinking as I sucked down my jolt of caffeine this morning, and flicked idly through the fairy stories that make up most of the mainstream ‘news’, that there are two kinds of people in the world; those who say with certainty things like ‘there are two kinds of people in the world’ and everyone else. I believe I must fall into the latter category because I’m finding it increasingly difficult to be deal with certainty. I can handle moral ambiguity all day long but Lord preserve us all from people who are certain. Those flushed with certainty and its close-companion, self importance, are just plain trouble. They can’t stop themselves from meddling and trying to control the lives of others and, in doing so, they make everyone else miserable. The harsh truth is that zealots of all pursuasions, in their childlike moral certainty, have caused more suffering and death through history than any number of evil dictators or nuclear bombs or serial killers. Lives are still being blighted on a daily basis by sometimes well-intentioned people who are absolutely sure that their way of living is the best and only way. Just as dangerous, and infinitely more disgusting, are the sleazy politicians and tv evangelists and newspaper columnists who cynically wrap fake moral certainty around themselves like a flag to excuse the inexcusable. The fact is, life is very rarely black and white. Don’t believe anyone who pretends otherwise and always look for the shades of grey.
I guess what prompted these ruminations was the news about the ‘Reverend’ Jerry Falwell’s death. What a guy ! I’ve read some of his Christian fundamentalist rantings and, frankly, he reminded me of nobody so much as the Taliban. I guess that fundamentalists of all persuasions, Christian and Islamic, must share the same basic DNA. They’re programmed to destroy. That was never really a problem as long as the Islamic fundamentalists just limited themselves to blowing each other up and the Christian fundamentalists simmered away angrily, largely unseen and unloved, somewhere south of the bible belt. What changed was when George Bush’s brain, Karl Rove, came up with the unholy idea of forging an alliance between the extreme-right neo-con wing of the republican party and the even extremer-right Christian fundamentalists. It was a marriage made in hell but, for a short tawdry time, it served its purpose. Bush and the neo-cons got into the Whitehouse on the back of the fundamentalist vote and the likes of Jerry Falwell got exposure and influence at a level unwarranted by their loony-tune beliefs. As a great man once said though, you can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you cant fool all of the people all of the time. So gradually the unholy alliance of the Bush neo-cons and the Christian fundamentalists has dissolved into internecine bickering as the sleaze of the former and bigotry of the latter have collided like two nasty old tom-cats fighting in a sack. Someone asked Jimmy Carter in an interview the other day how he dealt with his very strong Christian faith while he was President of the USA. You know what he said ? He said that he built a wall between the two because the constitution of the United States was very carefully and wisely set up to ensure a separation between church and state. Good for you Jimmy ! If only some other politicians had been as honorable. So lets make a deal, shall we ? A deal to be more patriotic in future. To really honor the constitution and treat with distrust and contempt any politician who tries to use his ‘Christian certainty’ as a ‘get-out-of-jail-free’ card in the game of politics ? Because you just know anyone who does that is likely to be a scoundrel, don’t you ?.
Want to hear my thought for the day ? It’s ‘ Don’t Follow Leaders’. Seems to me like the very act of putting yourself forward as a political or spiritual leader is deeply suspicious and should automatically debar anyone from being taken seriously. Remember, moral uncertainty is unlikely to kill you. Dogmatic belief has a fine track record of doing just that. And you can tell anyone who says different that Joe Hack told you so..

So last night pop tart Lindsay Lohan joined the ever growing list of celebrity DUI arrests. She crashed her car and sustained minor injuries and is being treated at the hospital.
What more can I say?
Rosie Will Not Return To The View
Well, it's official, Rosie O'Donnell will not return to The View to finish out the three weeks left in her contract.Â
It really comes as no surprise. Rosie has posted some cryptic messages on her own blog pretty much indicating she was done with the show. Both ABC and Rosie issued nice statements complimenting each other and Rosie says she still loves all three women.
After the meltdown on May 23, 2007 it is surprising that anyone has anything nice to say but I suppose they are all trying to be professional.

Irish Shark Fertilizes Own Egg
Well this is strange and just a touch troubling at the same time.
Usually the way sharks reproduce is through a male and female shark mating. We're all familiar with that concept, right? Well some animals can reproduce without a mate and scientists say that it's been observed in all major vertebrate species except mammals. It seems to be a defense against extinction.
So my question to the scientists.. umm.. ever heard of Jesus? Mary was a virgin when she gave birth, but as we all know that was divine intervention. I see what they are saying though, that mammals, given the one perfect exception, don't reproduce without a sperm meeting an egg.
So they did DNA testing on the baby shark and came up with conclusive evidence that the mother shark did create the baby without sperm from a male shark. So my next question… was the baby a clone of the mom shark? If it only had her DNA, would that make it a clone? I don't know. It's baffling to me. I'm no scientist.
I had no idea that vertebrate animals could asexually reproduce. I only thought worms and maybe some types of insects were capable of that type of reproduction. Have you ever heard of this before? I know, I know.. I'm full of questins tonight!
