Robbery Has Gone to the Dogs

According to news reports, Chrystopher-Lee Schaeffer, 21, and a 16-year-old friend were found asleep under a dog blanket on the roof of a news agency in Ipswitch, Massachusetts.

Police were called to the news agency when the owners reported a possible break-in at approximately 2 a.m. When the cops got there, they found the guys asleep and surrounded by various magazines, drinks, food and dog snacks. They had apparently not broken into the news agency, but had taken the items from a storage shed loaded with store supplies.

The 16-year-old was sentenced to community service. Schaeffer pleaded guilty to one count of entering the premises with the intent of committing an offense and one count of illegally being on or the a premises. Schaeffer’s lawyer said he was a good kid and he had no idea why they thought it was a good idea to take the dog food.

Schaeffer was sentenced to perform 50 hours of community service.

  2. Oh, gheezz! That was a bad story. It’s very sad and unfortunate.

  3. What a strange story! It’s funny, these days criminal lawyers are always being faced with weird cases like this… it’s hard to really explain, isn’t it?
