Sour Man

Tonight I went to eat at Cracker Barrel with my family. When we arrived at the restaurant I had a mini-altercation with a very sour man in the parking lot.

As I was looking for a parking spot, I found one that was actually two spots that if I had wanted to, I could have driven through so that when I left my car would have been pointing the right way and i could have left without using reverse. However, since my car has reverse I didn’t really intend to do that.

However, a sour man in the parking lot apparently had that idea in mind for the two parking spots and was coming around the other way. So when I pulled in on the opposite side, I completely ruined his evening. He gave me the “I hope you burn in Hell” look and threw his car into reverse and went to park somewhere else.

So of course, when we were seated in the restaurant it was near him and he mouthed “learn how to drive” at me. I laughed at him. Why do people want to let something so minor ruin their entire evening? After all, there were TWO parking spots there. I didn’t steal a spot from him. Oh well.

So it reminded me of one of my favorite commercials. I’ve probably posted this one before, but it’s just so great here it is again. It’s the Skittles Sour Man. Enjoy!

DWS – Driving While Stupid

I know, I know.. I’m always bitchin’ about something. So much in fact, that the bitchin’ needs its own category.

Is it just me, or are there an increasing number of people out there DWS (Driving While Stupid)?

Tonight I was on my way somewhere and stopped at a traffic light without any incident. Across the intersection, I saw a car approaching the already very red light without slowing down.  I thought they were just going to blaze right through it, which might have been marginally less stupid than what they actually did, but anyway.. They waited until they were a few feet from the line and then applied their brakes as hard as they could. It had been raining (thank God, because we needed it), so the road was wet. The car screeched sideways to a stop directly under the light, in the middle of the intersection. So now the car was sideways, out in traffic.  An accident waiting to happen. Luckily the light turned green in time and they got out of the way before any injury or property damage, other than their own tires, occurred.

I don’t get why people act so stupid behind the wheel.  There are always the normal idiots on the road that provoke road rage by just being ignorant… but doing something as retarded as to use your car as a novelty to potentially harm other people is just ridiculous.

Maybe I’m wrong and they didn’t do it on purpose.  Perhaps they were just innocently </snark> texting a friend and didn’t notice the traffic light.  Maybe they were coming from Burger King and the stupidity of Laminta, the Burger King girl just rubbed off on them. I’m not sure… but they were coming from that direction.

There should be a mandatory IQ test before a driver’s license is issued. Anyone falling into the “dangerously stupid” category should not be allowed driving privileges.  I think I will write my state reps about this.
